This multisystem VCR is guaranteed to play VHS cassettes from all over the world. To display PAL/SECAM VHS tapes on your American (NTSC) TV, the TV set must be multi system (NTSC PAL SECAM) compatible. If you do not have a multi-system TV set you must have the video converter DVC-1660.

The Sharp multisystem VCR will also record VHS cassettes for use in any country utilizing PAL, SECAM or NTSC video formats. Recording in PAL or SECAM from a US source (NTSC format) requires the DVC-1660 video converter.
