DVC-1660 Digital Video Converter allows you to freely convert between various worldwide television standards. The input system can be NTSC 3.58, NTSC 4.43, PAL, PAL-M, PAL-N or SECAM and the output system can be either NTSC 3.58 or PAL.

The DVC-1660 provides inputs and outputs for Composite Video signals. This PAL to NTSC high quality digital device converts between 50 and 60 Field Rates and between 525 and 625 Line Rates.
The DVC-1660 Digital Video Converters delivers high-quality converted pictures, exceptional super-stable synchronism and superior color separation. It is ideal for VHS tape conversion, DVD players, digital camcorders, Cable boxes, Satellites and video editing & capture, multi-system VCR and multimedia applications.
Tape conversion: You can exchange tapes
with friends or relatives living abroad, or for business and education.
PAL or NTSC (depends on the country you are in) VCR is required to do
this. ( Note: if you have a PAL or NTSC tape then you have to have a
VCR that is able to play that tape as well as a converter, you will not
be able to play Pal tape in the NTSC VCR and so as you will not be able
to play NTSC tape in a PAL VCR ). Make sure that you get an appropriate
VCR when purchasing a converter.
TVs: Take
your NTSC American TV overseas or bring your PAL or SECAM TV to the USA
. Using the high quality conversion quality of the DVC-1660 to
convert TV signals from Cables TV boxes
or Satellite Recivers you can use any PAL or NTSC TV to view any type of
broadcast signal in the world. Eliminating the need to buy a new
multi-system TV set. Since this PAL to NTSC converter has a digital video
processing, you will have a very low signal degradation, almost
impossible to see the difference.
International travel and relocation:
You can use your video equipment with the DVC-1660 video converters while traveling or
relocating to a country using a different TV system. Can be used for
many business purposes such as: Airline, Ship and Train or anywhere there is a 12V DC power outlet...
Camcorders:
Use your PAL camcorder in the USA or your NTSC camcorder overseas on a
PAL TV. You can also convert movies from your camcorder. For example:

signal.

GLOSSARY:
NTSC: National Television System Committee. Developed in the USA, also used by other countries. Utilizing the USA power net 60Hz as refreshing frequency
PAL: Phase Alternation Line. Developed in Germany, also used by other countries. Utilizing the European power net 50Hz as refreshing frequency.
SECAM: Sequential Couleur Avec Memoire. Developed in France also used by other countries. Utilizing the European power net 50Hz as refreshing frequency.
MESECAM: Mediterranean SECAM, a SECAM sub-standard developed for use in the Middle East and still used by a few countries. TV reception and playback may be viewed with both PAL and SECAM TV sets.
PAL-60: A substandard of PAL used by some countries, utilizing 60Hz instead of 50Hz refreshing frequency.
NTSC 4.43: An NTSC substandard. Most modern playback machines are dual mode and will switch automatically between versions 3.XX and 4.XX. Older machines may require manual switching or an additional external converter.
